In this set of 3 penguins you can appreciate the carving on their chests depicting an owl, a parrot and a condor. They were done in the Peruvian Sierra of Huancayo. The technique for producing a chiselled gourd involves etching fine lines into the gourd with a scalpel called a buril, creating a series of drawings. In this case, they were conceived and carved following the actual shape of the fruit.
