Owl Musicians Chiselled Gourds (Mates Burilados) with Peruvian Sterling Silver details, drum and zampoña – Set x 2 pieces
The technique for producing a chiselled gourd involves etching fine lines into the gourd with a scalpel called a buril, creating a series of drawings. These set of 2 mates are shaped in the form of owls playing local and well known instruments, in this case the drum and the zampoña (panpipes). They are detailed with 950 sterling silver and they originally come from the area of Huancayo in the Peruvian Sierra. Other designs available. Complete the band!!!
