Box drums are a traditional musical instrument from the coastal area of Peru, used for “festejo” (music created by african immigrants brought to the continent during the 17th century) and for other genres of music like the peruvian vals. This box drum player sculpture is handcrafted in dark mahogany wood and evoques the music art of a traditional central coastal population of the country.
